Top 10 Books You MUST to Read in 2016

I feel like my To-Be-Read List is always looming over my head, leering at me, striking chords of guilt while I download samples of unknown novels that pop up on my Amazon Suggestions menu screen. Whoops...

To some degree, bookworms everywhere can relate with this feeling.

But... TBR Lists aside... No matter WHAT I'm reading at the moment, it will surely get chunked into a dark, dusty corner while I purchase and devour ANY of the books listed below.

1. Truthwitch by Susan Dennard


Why: Witchery, war, girl power, thread sisters, sword ffighting, and a prince with a ship

Sequel/Series/Debut?: First in a series!! There will be more!!!

2. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

Why: Violins, violins, violins, violins... Oh yeah, and time traveling is cool, I guess.

Sequel/Series/Debut?: First installment on what is going to be an AMAZING series!! I'm already having post-reading depression... Must have Wayfarer in my life NOW.

Release Date: January 5th, 2016

3. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas


Why: I fell in love with Maas's retelling of Beauty and the Beast, and now I MUST know what happens to Feyre and Tamlin and Lucien!!! ...Oh. And Rhysand is alright too. I guess. *chokes*

Why: No-nonsense heroine, extremely unique premise, melding of Science Fiction+YA+Fantasy, intriguing villain

Why: Time travel meets fantasy meets supernatural, non-guilty vampire+mortal love interest that in NO WAY resembles Twilight

7. Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard


Why: X-men powers meets Hunger Games, rebellion, royalty, and a main character who has sworn off love triangles (Praise Jesus!)

8. Warrior Witch by Danielle L. Jenson

Why: Opera singer witch, "trolls" who aren't really trolls in any way shape or form; the 2nd book wasn't quite up to snuff for me, so this is a Redemption Read

9. A Torch in the Light by Sabaa Tahir


Why: I haven't read the first book yet, but from hype and Twitter and Bookstagrammers, this sounds like one to look forward to!

10. The Rose and the Dagger by Renée Ahdieh  

Why: Another "Haven't Read the 1st Yet", but heard ALOT of rave reviews, retelling of Arabian Nights fairytale
